Good day Mates, I arrived in a place of beauty that was surrounded by wonderful architecture on Wednesday afternoon. It was definitely a Kodak moment but that would be the case if my camera was not on it's last bar. The bus tour of London was wonderful and the guide filled are brains with plenty of knowledge. I kept the images embedded in mind and I knew that we would be back the next day, so I did not fret. We had our first London dinner and it was so good. Salad, Chicken with roasted tomatoes, and chips (French Fries) with a yummy dessert.
Thursday I awoke to a soar throat and was feeling under the weather. I was not going to miss all that London has to offer. Our group used the underground Urail station to get to our Thames river cruise. The scenary was breathtaking as we passed Big Ben, The London eye, and London Bridge. We walked past the amazing Westminster Abbey, where Prince Williams, and Duchess Kate Middleton were married. Also, there were decisions made in Parliament where we passed by. I experienced some great tasting sweet potato soup at a cafe in Hyde Park. They were setting up for the Queen's Jubilee where Paul McCartney and Jesse James will be present. The diamond jubilee is to commemorate her 60 years on the throne.
Sadly, Friday I figured out how hard it is to get treatment in a foreign country. It would have cost 70 pounds to be seen by a doctor here in London. After figuring it cost 70 pounds just to be seen and more pounds for antibiotics then Professor Stew & I headed back to the pharmacy. They said that I probably have an infection and should see a doctor but instead they recommended to gargle salt water as well as take aspirin. Aspirin here is about a $1.00 US money. It is definitely not ideal to be sick while on a vacation but today I did nothing but rest. It was unfortunate to miss a day's worth of activities but I did. =[
It is currently saturaday at 3:30 and I will be going to bed to get up at 7:00 am. We leave to Paris, France.
Brit hope you are feeling better, great pictures, and great narrative. Keep having fun, remember to be a sponge, and soak everything in. Love ya Pops. Ps no tattoos!!!!
Hi daddy, and I am feeling much better (a lot of pharmacy trips and medicine). I definitely am having a lot of fun but it's weird the real culture shock has been today (Switzerland). I did not end up going to get a tattoo in Paris but thinking about it in Italy. ;)
